Close fight and I had Dirrell winning. I wouldn't call it a robbery. Close fights sometimes go to the hometown man. All top pro boxers get at least one.
I can feel the sentiment of why bring it up now all these years later when Dirrell has fallen off the Earth, but Froch lost that night and it wasn't close if he fights someone similar he will get defused in the exact same way today.
this was not a close fight, I'm sorry. Dirrell won this fight as clear as Pernell beat Chavez.
You've basically compared Dirrell to Mayweather and Whittaker in two posts in this thread. Are you high?
They put on virtuoso performances for all 12 rounds in their respective fights against Canelo and JCC.
I actually like Dirrell skill wise but he came nowhere near to doing that. I don't remember Mayweather bear-hugging Canelo and refusing to let him go every time they got remotely close. I don't remember Sweet Pea dropping to the canvas every few seconds for no apparent reason.
Dirrell looked really good in spots against Froch and he showed what he was capable of in his next fight against Abraham. Now that was a dominant display - the Froch fight wasn't.
Haven't watched this crappy fight in a long time, but the last few rounds sealed what I thought was an obvious 8-4 or 7-5 Dirrell win. Just because it isn't pretty doesn't mean Dirrell didn't win.
