  • Why is carl froch Not considered an elite power puncher

He did a one punch Ko on groves, and the pundits where saying "hes a very strong puncher but hes not one punch"

Well for starters he done a one punch before on body shots and a famous one of Brian Magee.

But more to the point, who is a one punch ko artist??Hardly anyone. Sergey Kovalev and GGG are power punchers, imo have better technique then froch, but what evidence are they more powerful puncher than froch???

Froch has fought Elite world level time after time, yet still has a almost 70 percent KO record.

Look what happened when he faced B level opposition like Yusef Mack, he broke his ribs on both sides. Bute he got out in 5 rounds. and he nearly stopped Kessler second fight.

Abraham and Pascal have p4p chins, and Andre ward although marked up by froch, never got hit by a bomb as he tied/neutralised frochs attacks.

But going back to the one punch power, anyon can be one punch if they throw a punch that the oppoent doesnt see. Martinez, Pacquio and Marquez all did famous one punch power shots but all have lower KO rations then froch.

Also GGG and Kovalev, hoe many one punch stoppages have they had???Kolalev didnt one punch stop campillo, or cleverly etc. He rocks the prior then maybe a individual punch stops them. But howmany were like Froch groves, or martinez williams, or Pacqui Hatton???None

So basically, unless you are Wladimir, anyone can do one punch KO as long as the oppoent is not ready for it.

IMO froch should be in the p4p power top 5/6 fighter in the world. Hes stopped 4 OF HIS LAST 5, with kessler nearly being stopped in the 12th...

    Thoughts?

Because he's usually an accumulation stoppage kind of fighter, and most his big fights go to decision. There's a reason the Groves KO was the best punch of his life.

How did he "nearly" KO'ed Kessler when the fight went 12 rounds with no knockdowns? You're delusional.

              Yea but who isnt mate.

For example, curtis stevens v golovkin and sergey Kovalec v cedric agnew were relentless power, but not a single brutal ko.

For the record i think technically both GGG and Sergey are better and have far better punch accuracy. But also throw in the level of competition theyve been in(not their fault as they are green world champs/avoided) and to be honest there is not a great deal of evidence they are p4p bigger puncher than froch.

Froch faced a string of renound chins, such as kessler, abraham, pascal, johnson, and runner/elusive fighters, but with that in mind hes still come out with a almost 70 percent ko ratio.

For me is he one punch power, and if he shortened his combos up like Sergey or Golokin he would be far more accurate.

But look at the body shot on Yusef mack, you can see the ribs snap....

your the moron that thought Taylor won all 11 rounds before the ko..

But if you had watched the froch kessler fight 2, the ref is about to jump in in round 12. Considering Kesslers chin, the fact that the ref would consider that shows how strong of a puncher he is.

Its a shame he doesnt have the technique of GGG or sergey as he would have a ko ration 75 plus imo.

Deontay "Bronze Hype" Wilder 31KO's in 31W's

                  William Bezerra 35KO's in 36W's

                  Segei Kovalev 22KO's in 24W's

Adonis "Piece of ****" Stevenson has 20KO's in 24W's

                  Golovkin has 26KO's in 29W's

                  Keith Thurman 21KO's 21W's

                  Lucas Matthysse 33KO's in 31W's

                  Johnny Gonzalez 47KO's in 56W's

Carl "The Nose" Froch 24KO's in 33W's

But none of Carls KO's other than Groves were really dramatic or WOW'ish.

He's a good solid fighter but not really a one punch KO artist, he really tends to break people down more than anything and then hammer them into submission.

Kovalev is a monstrous puncher. We'll see with Golovkin soon enough about where his power belongs.

Froch doesn't really hurt guys the way the elite punchers do. He's got power, no one can deny that, but he isn't an elite puncher. Elite punchers are fighters like Kovalev, Matthysse, Wlad, guys who hurt almost everyone whenever they land good and clean, who have spent most their careers flattening guys with single shots.
