Yep. I think he masks his disdain for Cotto with his petty complaints about Bside this and that. His issue with Cotto is simple: He HATES that Cotto is a confident dude. Sergio thinks only Argentineans can feel good about themselves. To him, Cotto is just a lowly Rican and it burns him that Cotto does NOT accept his euro-centric narrative.

This is deeper than Sergio will EVER admit. To him, Cotto has no right to pride or to feel good about who and what he is.
