I was just browsing the ESPN website, when I stumbled upon an active "SportsNation" chat with boxing writer Brian Campbell. Not surprisingly, the main topic was Cotto-Martinez (Campbell picks Sergio by late TKO). But the following question was asked and Campbell answered:

Do you find it ridiculous that hbo is not brodcasting rigo's potentially last fight with them as his tr contract is almost up?
Brian Campbell (3:36 PM)
I personally think Rigo got a raw deal from Bob Arum. I get that there are limits to how you can market this guy and he's never going to be a big draw. But minutes after Rigo's breakthrough win over the No. 3 P4P guy in the world, Bob stood next to him at ringside and complained to the media how hard he is to promote and how boring he is. When you have a P4P talent like Rigo, you play that up. You play up his invincibility. You put him in situations to succeed. Having him headline in Atlantic City in December on the same night as a more attractive Showtime card wasn't the answer. Maybe Rigo's not a headliner unless he's in against a Donaire type. That could be. But he's such a great fighter that he deserves to be on TV, even in an HBO co-main or on a PPV undercard.
I couldn't agree more. I don't know where Rigo's boxing future is headed, but I'm glad to see him leave Arum's house.
