thats what I'm saying he has a good punch good movement and solid skills in a few of the fights I have seen him in it looks like he is holding back when he should be attacking he frustrates me more than anyother fighter I have seen recently beside the codrington fight he needs to fight up to his own level
I'm almost 100% positive Green won't be at Super Middle for long. He's really man among boys, and is too big for that weight. I'm not saying he would beat the likes of the big boys yet ie: Lacy, Kessler but he definitely is not a natural Super Middleweight.
He's a vegetarian and has like zero ****ing body fat. He's literally skinny as a rail, and I'd hazard to guess at his healthy weight he'd be fighting Cruiserweight.
What impresses me the most about Joel is his technical brilliance. You'll never see him drop either hand after he finishes throwing a punch, he always returns it to his ear as his moves his head away from the anticipated punch. And he will be anticipating that punch, because he waits and analyzes you before putting together his first combination. The only, and I mean only, fighter capable of defeating Joel once he gets to the top will be an incredibly strong swarmer with a good chin, and good ability to slip straight shots. That's the thing about Joel, if he doesn't get you with his jab or cross, and you close in on him, you have to deal with his body shots. And those body shots up close are coming from a wiry frame, we all know wiry guys are known for that power. Joel always finishes up top after throwing a combination to the body, and when he finishes each punch in his combination he'll return that hand to his ear, or pick a perfect angle to move to after the combination and jump to it with the earmuffs on.
I'm prepared to get flamed for saying this, but Joel Julio has shown me the promise of being the next Ali-caliber fighter of this era, with Whitaker and Mayweather being the other two. When I say Ali-caliber, I'm talking about a fighter who can do damage well up close, has great technical ability to roll with punches and defend his chin at all times, even in the midst of throwing his own combinations, and be devastating at a range. The only thing I'm unsure of about Julio is his chin, which remains untested.
The whole package is there, technical ability, great, freakish power, plenty of power inside, and plenty of power on the end of his shots. Nice reach as well in that division, so he's very versatile. While he hasn't stepped up in competition yet, I have this feeling that Joel will do very well against superior opposition. Much like that feeling I had when Mike was coming up, this subliminal confidence, I just know Joel will be a unified champion in a few years, it's his destiny.
nice post an analysis and get out of my head I was thinking mike too when I was starting this thread. The only thing he needs to work on is his feet. he can move don't get me wrong his feet when he is fighting just look a little heavy. your right his chin has n ot been tested but I cannot not see it being solid ya know I really think he needs to start moving up and I think he will. Learning english will be good for him too it will help him make more money one of the reasons that ouma and pac-man are doing well I think is that they attract american adiances because they speak english it helps them make money and americans like myself are bastards and only want to hear english being spoken.
dude I was looking at your picks in another post and I was like ya those guys are going to be good although escobato looked a little shacky in the first half of his last fight he was getting a little frustraited but finished well. I have yet to se abner fight but I amn looking forward to the oppertunity

He is not that skinny but I think you are right he might need to move up but it does not look like 168 is draining him to much as his power is not being affected in my opinion but maybe in a year or so ya it would be natural I forget how old he is he like what 24 or somthing ?
I also expect Lacy to be more polished and able to kick some ass next year.
thats all he really needs because he has good accuracy he does need a little more foot work but he has been moveing from the waist better in recent fights which is very good
what do you guys think about Valerio his next fight is an eliminator for the wba I think can he make somthing happen or is it all hype I have never seen him fight and probebly never will but I find every bit of news on him I can.
