Why do people act Garcia vs Herrera was a wipeout?

The GARSH!!!
You know what, i think DG would be better off at 147. He's had more fights at welterweight than he's had at 140. His body probably needs to move back up to 147 again.Last edited by UTEP; 06-03-2014, 03:17 PM.Comment

I don't think Garcia vs Mayweather is made. I will give the biggest reason, because of the PPV numbers that came back from the Maidana fight.
It wasn't good, Mayweather barely broke 800K, some say it was 900K + but it definitely wasn't 1 million and that is a bad mark for him who claims to be the PPV king.
The numbers were amazing for Canelo, but we know that's in big part BECAUSE of Canelo.
A Garcia fight wouldn't carry the weight, and I don't think the promotion would want another dud. I have a feeling for Mayweather's last fight, we will finally see him vs Pac, I don't know why I feel this, but I think he will demand it.Comment

I kinda agree with the OP. It was close, it wasn't no robbery. So many of the rounds could have been scored either way and I think in that instance, many critics of Garcia would automatically score them for Herrera, whereas the PR judges obviously scored for Garcia.
I'm no C J Ross, but first time I watched it I actually had it a draw. Second time I had Herrera winning, but only by 7-5.
I think if you scored it 9-3 or any less then there must be bias involved, it simply wasn't that clear cut either way.
And I hate Danny Garcia, I think he's ****.Comment

I thought it was a close fight too. But I thought the wrong guy won it. I still score rounds I think are even rounds as even rounds. Maybe official orders made it against the rules to call a round even. I have been watching fights for many years and there was a time when judges scored even rounds as just that, even. Now apparently they have to score a round for one guy or the other even if they truly believe the round was dead even. I think this is one reason for so many bad decisions. When judges can't score rounds even they tend to give all the close rounds they would have called even to their favorite fighter. I thought there were two even rounds in that fight and Herrera won 6 rounds clearly while I thought Garcia won maybe 4 rounds clearly. The fight was not one sided or a wipeout.Comment

1. Garcia's only decent punch is his wild left hook that only lands if you're fighting a fast rusher.
2. Herrera is the biggest high-risk low reward alive. Dude's style is frustrating as heck.
3. Garcia won 3 rounds on my card, 4 @ max. And I'm not a Lucas M fan, I couldn't care less about him. Danny has the potential, but his trainer ain't doing it.Comment
