The Question is, Will Haymon Still Use GBP???

Oscar said he has a relationship with Haymon, but he says a lot of things that probably aren't true.

I'd guesstimate that 70-80% of GBP's roster is not tied to GBP, but managed with Haymon.

Most people just assume that Schaeffer is going to be able to start a company and run Haymon fighters. That just reeks of legal disaster. I don't see it..

So will Haymon just continue to use GBP? Will he help appoint a new CEO?

"Golden Boy has a written contract with Richard Schaefer that ends March, 2018."

I also read Richard is large shareholder of Golden Boy. Which it is in his best interest $$$ for him if Golden Boy does well.

So I think Haymon will still use GBP.

There's going to be a lot of Haymon fighters on the shelf if he doesn't. Oscar's got em by the balls.

I dont see why he wouldnt.

Floyd and Richard left that doesnt mean Al doesnt want to work with him. But he does have everyone by the balls now. Highest bidder gets the fighter. Smart man

I think he'll have to if he wants to make fights in the immediate term, but we'll see.

In the medium term, the main advantage Haymon has us his relationship with Espinoza and Showtime. He basically engineered the GBP shift to Showtime and that should mean he'll still get favourable treatment there.

But beyond that, I have my doubts about any firm being able to withstand the combined clout of Top Rank and Golden Boy. I think they're just going to be able to offer fighters so much more, and ultimately that means they're going to be able to offer the networks more.

I don't see why ODH and Haymon wouldn't work together if they have a good relationship.

Although Schaefer did not want to discuss the specific reasons for his departure, it has been no secret that while Golden Boy features many of Haymon's fighters on its cards, most of those fighters are not under promotional contract to the company, which became an issue between Schaefer and De La Hoya, who has virtually no relationship with Haymon.

Seems to me the question should be "WILL OSCAR WORK WITH AL HAYMON" because people been accusing Haymon and Schaefer of trying to "TAKE GBP AWAY FORM OSCAR". Haymon is a manager, his job is to get his fighters the most money possible and the match ups they want and TV Dates, which he does a brilliant job of doing. I think Haymon will work with ANYBODY as long as the Money is Right for his Client. I don't get how Haymon gets thrown into this "COLD WAR" stuff when it was Bob Arum who talked **** about Haymon, Schaefer and Oscar after they jumped to Showtime
