After hearing such inflammatory allegations against Steve Smoger I had to go back and watch the fight. From what I just watched I have to say that Mansour is totally full of ****. Cunnigham legitimately beat the count both times. Claiming that the referee intentionally did a slow a count to help give the other fighter time to recuperate because of favoritism is a very serious accusation. To say something like that there should be some obvious evidence to support that claim and what I just watched was no where near that. He is talking about recuperation time when the knockdowns happened at the end of the round. Cunningham did most of his recuperating on his stool in his corner. So what is Mansour even talking about? Although I thought it was totally unfair and harsh, Juan Manuel Lopez was suspended for a year for making similar comments about the referee in his loss to Orlando Salido. And Lopez made his comments right after the fight in the ring while he was probably still punch drunk from being knocked out. Mansour actually had time to think about this and he still made the comments. I don't think he should be suspended but this is definitely at least just as bad or worse than the comments made by Lopez.

I don't know what you were watching but anybody with a pair of working eyes and ears can see that it was just a normal count. He got up before the count of eight.

I think they should fight again to clear things up. The first fight was verry entertaining and good, why not do it again? But Cunningham dont want that it seems.

The count was slow. Buy a cheap watch and learn how to grasp the concept of time. 10 seconds already passed before Smoger even reached the count of 8.

Even though he narrowly lost that fight Mansour put on a great performance, it's just a shame he got power-happy and didn't try to set up his shots better because he might have won if he boxed more instead of going all out.

Then again, Cunningham is a very good boxer himself so maybe he would have dealt with Mansour easier if Mansour tried to outbox him for the whole fight. I guess ultimately Mansour needs to mix up the brawling with the boxing, picking his spots at the right time - sort of like what Froch did to Groves.

Mansour is a very fan-friendly fighter though, he's going to make his money out of boxing for the next few years and set himself up financially for life.

I think most people simply have no idea how long a second really is. Most people count a second faster than it really is. Some people complained that it was more than 10 seconds and I also watched the knockdowns and Cunningham got up with more than enough time. The counts by Smoger were perfect to what a second is.
