    This.

Winning a close fight doesnt mean you lost. It's like every elite fighter automatically "loses" if its close.

Had that "slip" been called a KD, thats a different story.

It's a closer fight than it would have been a couple of years ago because of the injuries/lay-off. I still think Sergio eventually stops Cotto.

Cotto has decent timing and a good jab which might work well against Sergio but Cotto's defence is poor and he'll eat fast counters all night.

I thought Murray won close but clear. Murray outboxed him for the majority of the fight and knocked him down twice - doesn't matter if it was called or not, we all saw it.

I remember thinking two things during this fight.
              1. Sergio Martinez looks horrible.
              2. Why in the world is Murray giving away all these rounds.

I don't remember what rounds I gave to each guy but I scored the fight for Martinez. Murray gave away the whole beginning of that fight and then gave up the last two rounds.

If this was a street fight, Murray won hands down. He landed the clean stronger punches in the fight. But he just gave away too many rounds and scoring round by round, I scored the fight for Sergio. Murray really just blew it in the 11th and 12th imo.

*That is with scoring only one knockdown. I am aware there should have been two, but only one was called. I don't remember how many points I had him winning by, whether or not the second kd would have made a difference in the win

                Fair enough.

If I remember correct, I posted in the Murray-Martinez RBR thread, and thought Murray should have got the nod.

I think both Cotto and Martinez are clearly past their respective best days, obviously.

Fight happens to be at a weight where Martinez has shown he is a world championship level fighter, and Cotto...... hasn't.

I think Sergio stops him late.

Nah Sergio won that fight. Murray only has himself to blame. He spent half the fight just covering up while Martinez looked awful and was clearly there for the taking. He gave away too many rounds and this is not how you win a fight in your opponent's backyard.

"Covering up" = blocking almost all of Martinez shots = defence.
