    The George groves appreciation thread

Yes i was obviously rooting for Carl. But as Carl said, at 25/26 Carl would have got merked at world championship level.

George groves in parts did some beautiful boxing.

IMO HE WILL BECOME WORLD CHAMP. He has joined a good promotion. i think they should give him some c level tune ups, then maybe bika/Abraham level world title fight. Let Degale fight for the mandatory belts if froch drops them.

The those two meet down the road with the belts in a massive domestic fight.

    IMO he will school degale.

Chin up george mate, you are one slick fast boxer. Look at Amir khan, hes very good and hes lost 3 times.

I don't think he'll ever be the same. I hope he tightens up his defense and stamina in the future.

George Groves is a fast and hardhitting fighter, he just needs to work on his defense and his stamina. After that, he could easily be elite level, he really impressed me against Froch. I see him standing a good chance against any SMW right now who is not named Kessler, Froch or Ward. I hope he keeps improving and that he does well in the future.

But let's see how the KO affected him...

Losing to the main man at 168 doesn't make Groves less of a fighter. Hopefully Groves matures from this, both as a man and a fighter. Froch taught him a lesson.

Normally i'd say a fighter that got Hatton'd like that on Saturday might never be the same again. Groves however seems a pretty smart kid with a decent head on his shoulders. He clearly believes in his boxing ability. I think he has the ability to come back.

No issues with stamina in the second fight, he started to pick it up in the last two rounds. Even fight up to the ko. He needs to tighten up his defense as he doesn't have a granite chin to get away with it.

                Groves will not "school" DeGale.

Much respect for groves. So close but yet so far. Was rooting for him but hopefully he can work his way to that big fight again. Overall amazing event that took place on Saturday in London.

He's done alright out of boxing already, hasn't he?

He would have got at least £2 million the other night.

Plus that DeGale fight is another payday when ever he wants it. The Sauerland's will treat him with kid gloves for a little bit and then he will have another world title tilt.

I do feel he should get Adam Booth back in the mix though.

I find his style pleasing to watch. And realistically he will lay a lot of fighters out not named Carl Froch. He punches hard and has good speed.

Froch caught him with a worldy. I don't think Groves even made much a mistake. He just got nailed.
