Comments Thread For: Five More UK Blockbusters: Life After Froch-Groves

The events at Wembley Stadium on 31 May 2014 will live long in the memory of every boxing fan and member of the media who were fortunate enough to be in attendance as well as the “millions watching around the world”.

It only took one punch to end the six month saga that involved WBA/IBF super middleweight champion Carl Froch and George Groves and it wasn’t the left hook as the challenger had predicted. Instead, the champion produced a right hand from hell to clinically give closure to a demanding physical and mental rivalry that began last November in Manchester.

Only 2 fights I think on that list hold weight.

    Amir Khan vs Kell Brook

David Haye vs Tyson Fury <<<<< Fight that needs to be made!

None of these fights at 80, 000 at Wembley type of fights.

People are overestimating Brook's popularity, no one outside of boxing knows him but the grudge with Khan may sell.

Quigg and Frampton is a die hard boxing fan fight and probably sells well in Ireland or Manchester.

Haye v Fury could be huge but I think that's dead now.

Bellew v Cleverly is a Copperbox type of fight.

I can't see Fury giving Haye the time of day tbh, I don't blame him either. I'd love to see Khan vs Brook think its a HUGE fight here in the UK for boxing fans. Don't think you guys stateside will care too much though lol

The Furys will not be doing business with Haye or Adam Booth.

There doesn't seem to be much demand for Froch - DeGale. There is no history or bad blood there.

Bellew - Cleverly would sell because of their history, as would Khan - Brook. Quigg - Frampton could be huge.

One thing people go mad for over here is a domestic scrap, especially when their is animosity between the fighters.

Khan vs Brook (If Brook somehow beats Porter) would Sell Wembley within 30 minutes.

Brook Vs Khan would sell well. Especially with a good undercard.

I think Fury Vs Haye is gone now. I read the other day that Adam Booth said that's a fight they're no longer interested in. Furys team like-wise i'd assume.

Quigg Vs Frampton is a great match-up. Bellew Vs Cleverly interesting due to the fact they hate eachother.
DeGale Vs Groves II would be a good event.

On a lesser scale..Eubank Jr Vs BJ Saunders would be fun.

Good fights to be made, if they can get it done.

                  What, faster than Froch-Groves II?

If Hearn put on Brook vs Khan and Quigg vs Frampton as co main event, I think that would sell out a football stadium cause the Irish would come over in thousands aswell, but it would probably have to be a smaller football stadium.
