Cotto is not a middleweight period, and I don't even think he could handle a bigger 154 pounder so another factor is going to have to come into play to give him a shot. Age is one but you can also just tie it into one big category of health, because who knows where Sergio is at health wise.

That is just being honest about the fight really.

I'm sorry to burst the Cotto train's bubble, but people are saying it depends on Martinez's health because it completely, 100% depends on Martinez's health.

If you could guarantee me that Sergio from Chavez shows up, which is the last time we saw him healthy, I'd guarantee you Cotto ends up twitching on the canvas. Hell, if you could guarantee me the Sergio from Murray shows up I'd pick Sergio to win comfortably. There's a reason Cotto is taking this risk now and not two years ago.

Already with the excuses should Sergio lose. I like how dudes are acting like this is a prime Cotto at his prime weight.

Fanboys, take away their video games and the real world is just too much for them.

Cotto is the best fighter Sergio has faced and that is a FACT!

Beg to differ, in reality if you quantify all of Cotto's battle over the course of his career against the upper echelon of fighters and 11 rounds of being hit with bricks, age is moot in my humble opinion. His body of work vis a vis Sergio is beyond compare.

Resume is not at issue here -- age, among other things, is. Cotto is not a 160 lb fighter, even if he manages to win this next encounter. His performance started to weaken at 154. I think we can agree that neither of these guys can climb the divisional ladder indefinitely, without being KOed brutally at some point. I'm saying Miguel has reached that point at middleweight. Sergio could've KOed him a couple of years ago, although I don't know about now. I don't think Cotto makes it out alive versus Golovkin. "Maravilla" probably didn't either, for that matter.

                Agreed 110%..

The big thing all theses so called boxing haters/experts keep forgetting is that this fight will be won in the ring and THE SIZE OF THE RING is going to be Sergio Martinez's down fall...I expect a very small ring so there isn't enough room for Martinez to get on his bike and try to ride off..

The same Sergio that lost rounds to Matthew Macklin? He's being made into a monster that he wasn't. He was an elite fighter. He wasn't a monster and was made to look human against fighters that don't have near Cotto's skill.

Again, I disagree age is an issue. I discussed his resume only to argue against your point. The amount of p4p's Cotto has fought plus his amatuer career has aged him beyond his years. That being said, I am on record that Cotto will have a very difficult time winning this fight.

Resumes do mean something in this fight I believe though. Cotto has simply has fought better opposition throughout the course of his career. This means something and is why Cotto will win on Saturday. I just believe that at this point in their respective careers that he is just flat out a better fighter! If proven wrong and Sergio wins, hats off to him but my boy still wins for having the nutsacks to take this fight!

I believe that each could have knocked each out years ago especially before Cotto's assault in '08.

In all honesty as to Triple G...shiet, i could see Cotto take that fight as well...
