BoxingScene.com reported a few days ago that discussions were ongoing for the mandatory fight between WBC heavyweight champion Bermane Stiverne and undefeated Deontay Wilder. The fight will present the most dangerous opponent of Wilder's career. Wilder (31-0, 31KOs) has been able to stop every single opponent in the early rounds and he expects another early stoppage when he faces Stiverne. He doesn't see Stiverne lasting more than a round.

Stiverne is definitely a step up. Wilder should get more credit if he beats him. But still, I dont think this would be a very difficult fight for him as long as he can keep the distance.

Wilder says that he has a nice inside game. I would love to see him fighting on the inside but not against Stiverne...

I really wanna get excited about Wilder. Beating Stiverne in any fashion would have me on board. I don't care about the belt. It will be a nice lil trinket for winning his first real fight. And it will get him a lil mainstream pub. But to me. This fight is his first step towards becoming THEE heavyweight champion of the world. And we all know who he has to beat to become that.
