  • Comments Thread For: Golovkin Expects WBA Resolution For Geale Bout Today

Gennady Golovkin expects clarity for his next fight to come Sunday.

The undefeated middleweight is slated to defend his WBA title against Daniel Geale on July 26 in Madison Square Garden in New York, but he's been waiting for the go-ahead from the WBA.

Golovkin owes a defense against mandatory challenger Jarrod Fletcher, which was ordered on May 13. However, Golovkin applied for an exception for a mandatory defense, and tweeted on Sunday, "expecting today the WBA resolution re(garding) the fight against Daniel Geale on July 26, NY, MSG, @HBOboxing."

GGG has been defending that belt four times a year,I do hope the WBA grant an exemption.the Geale fight is by far the biggest test of his career and he will profit in victory by gaining more recognition.

I think GGG fans are under playing Geale's chances, toughness and durability though.expecting a three round blow out is laughable.I believe GGG will prevail on points.

The Soliman Geale fight is still there if Soliman and/or Geale lose to GGG,it'll do ppv too.two world class former belt holders.let GGG fight them both first.

Isn't Ward in the middle of a lawsuit with his Promoter? That option isn't even on the table at this point. Ward is wasting his prime away.

Soliman doesn't seem interested in the fight right now.

Ironically, he's about 5yrs younger than GGG with a 1000x better resume. So if he's wasting his prime, what do we call what GGG is doing:wank:

After all of Geale's saber rattling calling for Golovkin after he beat Garth Wood in February, he had better take the fight or he may start to lose his own fans.
