    Max Kellerman and HBO Team

This is my first thread but I have been visiting Boxingscene for years now, and I know Max has a bit of a following here.

Let me say first that I actually enjoy Max on espn with SportsNation. I know he is intelligent guy and a numbers guy.

My number one issue with him on HBO, and the whole commentary team, is that having a boxing expert (in this case Roy Jones, and Rip Emmanuel Stewart before) probably mean you should defer to them on boxing technique.

With all due respect to Kellerman, why is he arguing with Roy Jones about if Donaire is boxing flat footed or not.

He was arguing with Jones again? it's tedious when they do that.

That was a weird argument to me overall with them even throwing srl's name out there. Donaire does look slower to me and that is ultimately what Max was getting at.

I actually have liked HBOs commentary a lot more recently. It seems like they have found a groove working together.

The thing is I actually have learned to enjoy Max(on anything but HBO). Yeah he is a know it all, but it is the generation we live in.

My bigger point is that HBO commentating is almost detrimental to the sport.

            Am I going to far?

I hate when Max does that. I actually like Max and what he brings to the table as a pundit, but he needs to stop challenging Roy. Roy gives excellent insights with his perspective and ring experience. I just don't understand how Max has the audacity to go against Roy who is an all-time great

Kellerman used to be good, not these days though.

Its cringeworthy when he tries to out-do Jones all the time.
