  • Why do fighters who are not close to slick hold their hands so low?

Is this some new training method in boxing? i mean if you have slow reflexes,**** movement and keep your hands low you will get hit a and most likely stopped

If you're talking about Froch, it is how he utilises his jab to good effect.

Not too many fighters who fight with their hands low.

Assuming you're talking about Froch (Groves is pretty slick/fast, so are others who use that style like Martinez etc), it's always seemed like an intentional way of luring his opponent into committing themselves to punches.

He didn't do well against subborn gameplan guy Ward. He does very well when he lures his opponent into headhunting him.

ROY JONES JR is responsible LOL

It is ****** but if you are quick enough and have the reflex it allows you to be unpredictable because you really don't know what punch the fighter will throw with their hands down

Because if they don't they look like Arthur Abraham, absorbing multiple shots through their high guard.

You can conserve energy by keeping your hands low. and it looks cool

not recommended unless you have cat like reflexes, though

Froch loved Roy Jones and Prince Naseem.

Unfortunately he wasn't blessed with the same speed and reflexes

Froch is just a hero though. Who can't love him?
