From BoxNation replay in first round it seems that Vetyeka landed elbow at the end of round 1, so it opened the cut.
Then "accidental" headbutt happened in round 2 so Donaire complained again

so in today's boxing, it's cheating when you got your eye smashed by a bald head and elbow but you fought and floored the guy to lead on points and was even upset that the fight ended that way and willingly gave his opponent a rematch? is this how much of a ****** idiot today's boxing fans are??!!

it really isn't donaire's fault that the fight ended the way it did. it was a nasty cut and it's admirable that he fought on as long as he did with it.

i had donaire clearly winning all the first 4 rounds plus the knockdown.

despite the controversy surrounding the way the fight ended i was impressed with donaire's performance.

no there was a headbutt too, it wasn't a very solid one but their heads grazed and the follow up elbow is what really opened it up.

I've said this before, and every fight reminds me that Donaire is by far the most unfairly hated fighter on this site. He does nothing wrong but everyone always assumes he's ducking or cheating or whining or quitting and he's always called a b*tch. He just beat the crap out of a featherweight titleholder, which is like 2 or 3 divisions above Donaire's best weight, and people say he sucks.
