Comments Thread For: Froch Shakes Head at Groves' Coach Use of Fitzpatrick

CARL FROCH has warned George Groves he does not have the right man in his corner.

Irishman Paddy Fitzpatrick took charge of Groves just weeks before his first clash with the IBF and WBA super-middleweight champion after the Londoner split with Adam Booth.

Groves is the first fighter Fitzpatrick, whose real first name is Gavin, has been the main coach for.

What did Freddie Roach amount to as a pro? Naazim Richardson, Emanuel Steward, Cus D'Amato and Eddie Futch never even boxed as pros let alone fight for world titles and McCraken doesn't even belong in that line up.

False logic being applied by Froch that the higher you achieve as a pro the better you will be as a trainer. Buddy Mcgirt was a two division champion and as a trainer?

Although the hats Paddy wear do annoy me for some odd reason.

Groves is so calm and confident for a 26 yr old. He's seems like an exceptionally intelligent person. Love the line that he "just needs someone to hold his water".

But to be fair , Fitzpatrick learnt from the great trainers like Freddie roach. I don't think the trainer is an issue .

This makes no sense at all. I like froch but sometimes he speaks so much nonsense.

All you need to do is talk to Paddy for a couple of minutes and you know that he knows his stuff.

Really top class bloke if you ever get the chance to meet him.

Froch is pretty ****** here. Quite often it helps not to have even participated in the sport because you can look at it objectively. Look at Jose Mourinho in Football (soccer), he played at a very very low level and essentially gained his knowledge as a language translator by working alongside the very best, now he's one of the best coaches out there.

Some people have a great boxing brain but didn't have the natural athletic gift and ability to put it into practice themselves, so they are more suited to passing on the knowledge to others. Like in music, many of the songwriters are behind the scenes, they just didn't have the voice or presence to be the performer.

I thought Froch was a bit smarter than this. He is thinking with such simplicity and with no logic here.
