Comments Thread For: Froch: Groves Will Return To The Hole He Crawled Out Of!

CARL FROCH branded George Groves a lightweight and vowed to send him packing as tempers flared ahead of tonight's Wembley scrap.

Around 5,000 fans packed into Wembley Arena across the road from tonight's big fight venue to watch the pair step on the scales.

And IBF and WBA super-middleweight king Froch goaded his challenger by telling him he has come in too light for one of Britain's biggest ever fights.

Hope you're getting paid a barrel of cash for writing about this crap fight every 30 minutes for the last 2 weeks. After about 10 articles its obvious this is just paid advertisement. Uh oh...Froch just farted and Groves vows to punish him for his flatulence. Better report that

He has come in too light. He's 2 pounds lighter than his last 3 fight average. Froch is pretty much exactly where he always is. I can't imagine that will help his stamina or power. If he's hoping it will improve his speed- why? He already has that edge over Froch. Stamina is where he struggles.

Don't hold me to this but his reportedly longer training runs my have something to do with it. If Paddy, The Don, Fitzpatrick is correct that can only mean Groves'll have more in the tank and the lighter weight may have something to do with it.

Froch is pretty much saying the same thing he said before the first time.

I hope for his sake he doesn't mean what he's saying. Groves is clearly not worried, I think that was well and truly proved last time. He's super confident in himself, always has been. It's one of those things people underestimate with Groves - his confidence in his own ability.

I also dislike the notion that the last fight was the best Groves could ever be. I've seen him look sharper in his previous fights - albeit obviously against significantly worse opposition.

Froch looks in ridiculous shape as per usual, and seems to be calmer and more relaxed, but I doubt it's sincere. I have a feeling he's putting on a show for the cameras. Froch is a really intense guy, as he's been throughout his career - I honestly doubt there's a personality change in him.

Anyways, tough fight to predict. I'm still torn.

You look at Groves' opponents before the Froch fight dating all the way back to the Degale fight and it's been fights he's taken on weeks notice. He's never really had a solid 8-10 week camp since Degale. And if I remember correctly he made the weight inside the limit comfortably for that fight as well.

I thought he looked in tremendous shape and "only" rehydrated about 8-9 pounds which is a good sign of someone doing their weight comfortably.

So I can't really see any issues there and honestly think Carl is just clutching at straws.

Someone who did look dehydrated however, was Brandon Gonzales. He looked pale and tight and his lips were dry. I'm worried for him,

I thought DeGale looked drained too, face was really drawn in and his shoulders looked pointy as ***.

How do you know what Groves has rehydrated to?

I thought he looked alright to be honest. I may need to rewatch it.

The IBF have next day weigh-ins and I think their max is 10 pounds above the original weight.

Groves re-weighed in at 175.6 and Froch 176.4 or something like that. So both were comfortable.
