I again had the pleasure to referee Art Doors Tough Gloves competition last night. The former Tough Man promoter has continued his promoting prowes, now registered with USA Boxing, and is again putting on very entertaining shows.
While the skill level is not that of a regular amatuer show, most of the boxers are stepping into the ring for their fist taste of the leather, the action more than makes up for the lack of pure skill.
You most likely will never see the next Muhammad Ali on one of Arts shows but I can gaurantee you that you will see lots and lots of action. When the bell rings in these matches there is no feeling out period. Before the bell has even finished ringing it seems that there have already been 4 or 5 punches thrown and landed.
Doors shows are always filled with electricity from the anticipation of the crowd. The furious action only elevates that current through the crowd from first bout to the last.
Art Doors Tough Gloves may be coming to a town near you as Art is currently crossing the U.S. promoting his shows and looking for that next special pugilist. I have asked him to send me a list of his future bout locations. So if stepping up into the ring to swap some fists is something that interests you then P.M. me with your location, age and weight. If they will be coming to a town near you and you are looking to step up and test you skills, then I will set it up for you and it will be done.
