Ward just wants too much money for any fight. he's not a TV draw and doesn't have much fan support outside of Oakland. sadly Ward doesn't play into the "angry black man" stereotype and that hurts his money making ability. if you're black in boxing you're either KOing people or pissing everybody off. you can't just be an excellent boxer like Ward.

Ward needs to either take less money or fight more often or both. Ward can sit out and wait for the big money fights but that's the fastest way to becoming irreverent.

Andre Ward: diva, with a boring, hit and clinch style, has a small following, never fights outside of Cali, never left the U.S. for one Super 8 tourney fight, won't move up to 175 to fight Kovalev, calls out Middleweights, wants to recycle opponents and not even leave the country to fight them (just Bullshts the media that he's willing to travel)...

Ward is another guy who is bad for the sport like Floyd...another guy who cries about his contract, makes demands for every fight because he's insecure (see draining Dawson, wouldn't fight Froch in the U.K. - made Froch fight him in A.C. in an empty arena).

Ward you signed your contract, live up to it, stop whining, stop acting like a Diva, leave Cali once in a while and take some challenging fights (like Kovalev at 175) and maybe you'd actually develop a following...

Until then Hearn is absolutely right with what he said about Ward...

If Ward is sick of seeing other guys make money, he should face the facts that he isn't the biggest draw and try to change it. Better fighters than Andre Ward have had to do things the hard way. If he has to travel overseas to make a payday, do it.

That is, if money is really his concern and not some need to dictate all the terms for his fights.

funny how when its convenient money is all of a sudden the most important thing. but if its a different fighter then its a different story.

ward makes good money himself and he will go down in hostory as the far superior fighter (unless froch or groves do something about it). all the money in the world wont change the fact that ward easily schooled froch with a damaged right shoulder and a broken left hand.
