Comments Thread For: Pacquiao's Adviser: Canelo Possible, Marquez Overpriced

"Fighter of the Decade" Manny Pacquiao's adviser Michael Koncz says Pacquiao is looking at a possible fight against the extremely popular young Mexican fighter Saul "Canelo" Alvarez next year provided they can come to terms on an acceptable catch-weight like they did when Pacquiao fought Miguel Cotto.

Koncz told BoxingScene.com/Manila Standard "it will be a substitute for a fight against Floyd Mayweather Jr and will be the next biggest fight and may very well rival a Manny-Floyd fight."

I like the Amir Khan fight, but if he can't fight Floyd in September, he can't fight Manny in September. I can't wait to hear the fans explain why it would've been a bit*h move if Floyd chose Amir Khan over Maidana, but now Arum is talking Amir Khan, and that's okay! Freddie said he wants Canelo at 150. That ain't gonna hapen. But we know Canelo can make 152, the question is would he want to. For another megafight, I think he'll make 152.

"Its too dangerous. We are not trying to get any advantage but just trying to protect the health of Manny." LOL health comes first.

On a serious note, NO WAY Canelo should fight anywhere under 152, if they wait one more year he might be even bigger than he is now. Roach 150 catch weight is bs because Canelo couldn't even make the 150 catch weight with Matthew Hatton he came in at 151.

I don't think so. He see's himself as an A-side now, and rightly so. His numbers have rivaled Pacs recently,he's rapidly growing out of the division and TR needs this fight way more than GB. I think he comes to the table with all the advantages, and it will have to be at 154 worse 153. But thats assuming this isn't all BS, which it sounds like. Canelo killed that noise a little while ago, Roach is talking garcia, Arum mentioned Khan, and also they're talking going back to 140. Its just words at this point.

              Khan cant fight in September.

I don't think Canelo can make 154 anymore, let alone 152 or 150. Dude's just too big.

just leave canelo alone ffs...don't drag him to another catchweight. the boy is still growing and is already big for his division. if anything he needs to move up not moved down to a ****ing catchweight.

It makes more sense for Manny to fight Maidana over Canelo. Maidana is riding high off of his performance against Floyd and he's a lot closer to Pac's size.
