People do have off nights... but sometimes you can tell it's where a person would've beaten his opponent 10 times out of 10

I'm just saying. I don't like this being used as an excuse. Especially when every time a fighter is interviewed before a fight, they say "I feel strong, I'm 110% ready" and when they look bad this is the excuse fans want to give them. I know that it takes a whole lot to train and lace them up and get in that ring 2-3 times a year but it's ok to admit defeat to a better fighter. Garcia-Herrera was NOT an off night, Chavez-Vera 1 was NOT an off night, Mayweather-Maidana was NOT an off night (not to say may lost but you get it).

Having an off night happens but is not an excuse when you only fight two to three times a year. It's like having a bad day at work but you only work two or three days a year. Not acceptable.

I do believe in off nights but not because you got whooped. Your definitely not your best every single day of the week in the gym. So it can happen. But if you look at it the other way. You can also say the other guy prepared better/ or is better than people actually gave him credit for which is why you didn't look your best/got your ass whooped.

An off-night is, for example, Khan vs Garcia when Khan trained himself for most of the camp and also let his anger get the better of him due to the Garcia's racist taunts. Those factors, plus the weight-draining contributed to that loss - that was an "off-night" because Khan was out of his element due to the poor camp & racism from his opponent. Had Khan been able to prepare properly with a dedicated trainer, stuck to the right game plan and controlled his anger then he would have won that fight fairly easily.
This is literally one of the worst excuses I've ever read a poster make for a fighter. So Amir Khan got KO'd by Garcia due to racism?

Nope. Provo made it look like an off night due to the whooping he put on Bradley. Garcia was simply out worked by a better fighter that night. Opponents are there to actually win fights, not just a supporting cast member to make the names look good.
