Ability to learn things quickly, and a natural ability to fight/box. Physical attributes, and obviously the mentality to keep coming back to training after getting your head beat in.
You can have 2 guys have the exact same training, and the exact same nutrition, but the other guys gonna be simply better.
You can have 1 guy that's gifted, but mentally weak. You can have a guy that's mentally strong, but physically lacking. The best have both. Then there are guys that can just take a punch without suffering the consequences on a freakish level, and doesn't mind the punishment. So many variables. Then you have a guy with all 3.Comment

They were born hungry and poor you don't expect a spoon fed brat to go through these harsh training conditions do youBeing a great boxer requires a specific blend of attributes combined with an unquenchable thirst for victory. From natural talent to countless hours spent in the gym. Some are born into greatness, while others strive to be great. What characteristics do the greatest boxers of our past and present have in common?Comment

Not at all, but I wouldn't make such a faulty generalization by painting every great boxer with a broad brush. For example, Sugar Ray Leonard was born into a middle class family, his rise to greatness wasn't driven by motivations to escape poverty or hunger.Comment
