    Current Heavyweight Ranking

    Based on recent accomplishments.

Please let me know what you think of my list. This is my first post on BoxingScene.com - am really happy to be a member. Hope I'll be able to visit as often as I'd like to, unfortunately I am sharing this internet connection with two very good friends of mine. Am looking forward to your responses and some interesing discussions with you girls and guys.

    1. Lamon Brewster
To me the most impressive heavyweight these days, very good boxer and fighter.

    2. Chris Byrd
Has not been that impressive lately, but he is the longest reigning champ with some good wins and excellent boxing skills.

    3. Hasim Rahman
The win over Monte Barrett was big in my opinion. His ranking seems a little high right now, not exactly sure. I am very excited about his upcoming bout against James Toney.

    4. Nikolay Valuev
He has some wins over good opposition, although the decision over Donald was not legitimate and the one over Ruiz questionable, in my view.

    5. John Ruiz
Was barely defeated by Valuev. Ruiz beat good opposition and still deserves a high ranking.

    6. James Toney
Undefeated at Heavyweight. I do not count the Ruiz fight, though.

    7. Wladimir Klitschko
Has not impressed me lately, but his UD over Peter is something (although he was floored three times).

    8. Sultan Ibragimov
Undefeated, beat some very good opponents. He has a bright future in front of him, I am sure.

    9. Oleg Maskaev
WBC Mandatory. Big win over Sinan Samil Sam. Has not been defeated in quite some time.

    10 Calvin Brock.
Undefeated also. Good resume ... so far.

I would rather look at your grocery list. The heavyweight division isn't worth the powder to blow it up....

The grocery list thing was quite funny. LOL

For me, the heavyweight division is the most entertaining and the most interesting division. I like watching the big guys fight.
I agree that the division is not as great as it was as Ali, Tyson and Holyfield were around, but there is still some talent around these days.

money runs the division, its not about the the top guys fighting the top guys or what the fans wanna see, its all about ripping people off by putting bad matchups together and selling horrible ppv fights....
