Comments Thread For: Dierry Jean Returns June 13, Eyeing Run At 135 Or 140

Dierry Jean isn't interested in dwelling on the past, which is exactly where he plans to leave his loss to Lamont Peterson. Coming up short in his first title shot this past January, Jean returns to the ring versus Daniel Ruiz on June 13 in Montreal, Canada.

The 32-year old enters the fight with a fresh perspective and lofty ambitions. A career super lightweight - the weight where his aforementionef bout with Peterson took place - Jean (25-1, 17KO) will come in at or below the 135 lb. limit for the first time in his career, as his showdown with Ruiz comes with a regional lightweight title at stake.

Don't read too much into the move, however; Jean isn't ready to abandon the 140 lb. division. Quite the contrary, in fact, as the Haitian-Canadian wants to keep his options open in either weight class, and dive right in the moment a title opportunity becomes present.

Enduring stiff challenges in the meantime will help him remain ready in transition. [Click Here To Read More]
