I agree many people counting him out. He seems to have decent enough boxing skills to at least give Prov sometning to think about. But I can't see this fight going any other way then Prov breaking him down and getting a stoppage

The guy has a good jab, can fight inside, can move and has a tremendous advantage in height AND reach.

But sometimes it isnt just about that. The stage can get to a fighter I suppose.

We dunno how well he can take punishment. But you have to account for his size tho. He might be able to take Provo's shots well due to his size advantage.

Undefeated boxers tend to think theyre Floyd Mayweather with their defense...but they always get a wakeup call when they fight a real puncher who has been in there at the highest level. Any game plan Algieri has is out the window once Ruslan hits him. He's simply not good enough to avoid him for 12 rounds.

I see this playing out something like Orlando Salido vs Cruz. Cruz was able to outbox him in spurts but eventually got KOd.
Good call. I think this comparison is pretty right on.

I briefly met Algieri a couple years back. He's a really good guy, seems to work hard, and has a good head on his shoulders. I hope he performs well in the fight and at least earns himself another shot down the road.

I just know of Algieri from the one or two espn fights I saw, but he seemed good and qualified enough to be here. I won't count him out. Just not too long ago, Ruslan was on espn waiting for a shot.

I hope we get a war and let the best man win

Agreed, if Algieri fights Provodnikov the way he fought Taylor, he will be destroyed. Not fighting tall, falling in, languishing on the ropes, covering up... These practices will play right into Ruslan's hands. His relentless attack and power will overwhelm Algieri.

I dont think it was just in that fight. He comes in a lot. He just needs to be smart about picking his spots. Like Alvarado did vs Rios in the second fight.
