Comments Thread For: Hearn Not Sure He Can Ever Top Froch-Groves II Event

Promoter Eddie Hearn of Matchroom believes the upcoming monster show at London's Wembley Stadium is quite possibly the biggest card that he's ever going to stage in his promotional career. 80,000 fans are expected to pack the venue to watch the rematch between IBF/WBA 'regular' super middleweight champion Carl Froch and his domestic rival George Groves.

Hearn said yesterday he thinks they could have sold 150,000 tickets after doing 60,000 in 51 minutes.

Khan vs Brook. But Brook literally hasn't beat anyone, I mean like NO ONE!

Agreed, although the atmosphere would be something amazing aslong as they have a really big screen up visible on each side than I think I'd definitely want to go.

I wonder who the crowd will take warming favouritism too I mean surely the London punters would of got the tickets way before the Nottingham ones?
Its not like a football i.e. home/away side

Very easily I reckon but I don't think I'd be too keen on being up on the cheapo seats...
They're still charging for tickets right now like £151 - 180 for average seats.

People in America (especially Ward) need to recognise the magnitude of this event. Mayweather-Pacquiao couldnt sell 80,000 tickets that fast. The truth is for super-middleweights you now need to fight in England to become a star.

Don't get carried away. Pacquiao sold 51,000 tickets against freaking Joshua Clottey at Cowboys Stadium.

A fight with Mayweather would easily dwarf that. Except that it will never happen and even if it did they would hold it in Vegas where they could sell extremely high priced seats instead of doing it in an outdoor stadium.

I think he was more referring to the speed of the sales.

60,000 tickets sold inside an hour is phenomenal especially when you consider the average person on the street in Britain doesn't even know who Froch or Groves is.

If Froch wins, it will be interesting to see what kind of numbers he does in future. He really is the A-side in this fight.

Don't worry, As Weebler picked up on, I was specificslly talking about the speed of the ticket sales.

For the record though Pacquiao couldn't sellout cowboys stadium today. Not against a clottey level opponent again.
