  • Comments Thread For: Groves To Froch: I Can Go Twelve, You Won't Go Three!

George Groves is adamant there is no way super-middleweight rival Carl Froch will be able to defend his IBF and WBA titles for a second time on Saturday night.

The pair were involved in a hugely controversial first bout in November which was stopped by Howard Foster Jr in the ninth round in favour of Froch, but Groves is sure the 36-year-old veteran will have no such luck when the pair clash at Wembley.

Many feel that Groves tired during the latter stages of their first meeting in Manchester but the 26-year-old Londoner believes hometown advantage and a more intense conditioning regime can ensure every conceivable outcome will fall in his favour.

This fight is starting to get overshadowed by a ridiculous game of "he said she said"

    JUST MARRY EACHOTHER ALREADY

ive won decent money from carls hard work and determination in the past but, this is a different george groves going into this fight against the last fight or even the de..gay..le fight.
hes never really been vocal to this degree or this sure of what hes looking to do and if anything, the last prediction (which then was a big ask of a so called up and comer) was **** on if not for the ref and it will give him a massive edge in the heads over carl.
winding the clocks back over a year now, does anybody remember carl saying..."he doesnt feel his age but his legs do".?
he still has the desire and heart AND power but, the legs wont stretch it in this one i think.
like i said already, its either fighter before 6 rnds or the saint by late ko.

Groves is just winding himself up as he sees Froch is pretty damn calm this time,.

Sometimes you're as good as your last fight and Groves didn't make it past 9. So his talk doesn't have much merit right now.

                "You won't go 3!"

                "No, you won't go 3!"

                "I can go 3"

"Well I can go 3, too!"

                "Your mother!"

                "No, your mother!"

i love those stares that groves gives froch when hes got nothing to say, n froch gets all pissed off. funny as hell, and easily 1 of the biggest matchups of this year

i struggle to think of a bigger fight in the uk

                    Groves has me convinced.

I don't see what Froch can do to avoid taking a beating.

Groves just needs to not get greedy.

He really could hit Froch at will with his right hand.

Froch was circumspect in that fight after the shellacking he took and I can only imagine he will be even more so in the rematch. Paralysis by analysis.

Froch is harder than a coffin nail and if he is to win again he has to outlast Groves and take another beating I think.
