I think Mares would have an easier fight with the less experience Velez.. BAD decision
You're forgetting that Mares is from the old school. He doesnt take a fight because Iit's easy.

Herrera won't damage Danny's body nearly as much as Lucas can before a move to 147. Plus as a Garcia fan, I felt much worse watching Herrera than the Matthysse fight. So Danny giving Herrera the rematch would be satisfying. Danny will look to show that he truly is superior, hopefully knocks him out in a rematch.
I dont follow. why does this mean Garcia will fight Herrera again. Anyway, Id way rather watch a Matthyse rematch. Matthyse was winning bf his eye started swelling up. Not saying it was lucky - obvioulsy that was from garcias punched, but dont think the same thing would happen

Good. Better if they load the good fights on regular Showtime instead.

this card is overall better than Cotto v Martinez but I think standards for PPV undercards have fallen so low that people are impressed by the subpar just bc it's not awful. For ex., the Mayweather undercard was not tgar good - Broner v Molina had odds of app 20-1. Just bc they paid a lot of Money for it doesnt make it good. Broner v Khan with a lesser fight wouldve been better.
I know hes the promoter, but the fact that oscar called Hererra v Perez a "dream fight" is absurd

I'm really interested to see Mares return, been waiting for almost a year. He is also fighting under a new trainer, Virgil Hunter. I'm not too excited about his new selection for his corner but it will be interesting to see if Mares will return to his boxing roots like when he was being groomed by Nacho. I think the Jhonny fight proved he was becoming too confident in his brawling and smothering style(although it was just one round), perhaps we will see a more technical(clinching) Mares this time around. A hug would have saved him from O'G Jhonny, but his "Amir Khan" reflexes didn't let him back down and he got laid out again. Regardless, get them Mares! WARES!
