why do people make a big deal out of Mannys win over Bradley?

K since most of yall say he was robbed in the first fight that would simply mean pac beat an unranked Jr welter who was forced to move up in weight and didnt really do anything to derserve a shot in the first place. So since you say Pac "won" then that would mean that Bradley didn't move up the p4p list, in fact he would have gone down so why is everyone making a big deal out of manny beating the so called pound for pound #5 or whatever he was at the time of the rematch. He "lost" to pac so actually he was unranked and shouldnt be a big accomplishment at all.

I see the arguemnt that Pac is "back" now that he beat an unranked loser in Rios coming up in weight and beating a "p4p" fighter in bradley which he wasnt so wheres the case now?The simple truth is that pacroid has not done anything to warrent the P4P #2 spot. Ward still sitting on that comfortably so keep crying

But he did deserve a shot, he beat Holt Peterson Alexander Abregu, all who were highly touted fighters prior to Bradley somewhat derailing (and head butting) their careers, atleast momentarily.

He had a string of big wins leading up to the Pacquaio fight.

He was a top contender, but P4P#3 was most definitely questionable...I'll give you that much.

Because since Bradley got his gift decision over manny, Bradley went on to get big wins over jmm and ruslan, while manny got put to sleep... 2 years is an eternity in boxing and your only as good as your last fight.. Plus Tim was universally recognized as a p4p caliber fighter, and manny owned him twice while everyone else struggled vs Tim
I think that is why some people make a big deal out of it..

I said the same thing. Everyone know PAC won the first time. Now people keep saying "he just best the #3 p4p!!11" I mean nobody would give Floyd credit for beating jmm again. Fight was made just to get an official victory

That wasn't my point,, Bradley earned a lot of respect for his heart and courage in that fight.. I realize it wasn't a PPv showdown and was suppose to be a stay busy fight, but it did help propel Bradley's name higher... The days after the fight a lot of posters were giving Bradley props and changing their opinion on him.. That's why I consider it a big win.. The manny win brought a lot of hate, and the ruslan win allowed Bradley to win some love from the fans..

That's a rather poor comparison considering the circumstances were completely different. If JMM was given the W against Floyd then it would warrant a rematch, which was the case in the Bradley/Pacquiao situation.

From what I remember there were a lot of floyd apologists in this forum actually trying to rationalize Bradley's victory in the first fight (ie. watching it with no sound or in 3x slow mo, etc.). The fact was Bradley was undefeated with wins over Pacquiao and JMM (after Marquez had just sparked Pacquiao). He was also ranked high on the p4p list.

I don't know exactly who, but I bet a lot of the people trying to downplay Pacquiao's victory over Bradley are probably the same people trying to justify that Bradley somehow won the first fight as well.

"Just watch it with no sound and in slow mo."

It is kinda crazy if you think about it. Comes up from 140, Gets gift decision from Pac, goes life and death with Ruslan (some people thought Ruslan won), beats JMM which honesty i think a lot of boxers would give JMM trouble, and loses to Pac 2nd time. I mean at 140 he was the top 2 with Khan at the time if you count that.
