Yes Rocky isn't the same fighter anymore but I wouldn't call it a "Major upset" like the title says. He's a former Olympic silver medalist. Not like the guy lost to some journeyman.

Rocky was so close to win a title against Barrera and John and in both cases it looked as the judges took away thr victory from him to benefit the champion (although he didn't performed as well in the rematches). Rocky has fought the best men of the feather weight division (his resume is very impressive) and despite the excellent quality of opposition, he has never lost by KO and most of the fights in which he lost were very competitive. I would like him to get another chance to fight for a title and hopefully he should be able to finally get it. I would be great to see him finally as a champion despite being 34 years old.

Experience, Rocky has it. Good win, but hard to see him in with anybody but Jhonny, and even then he might get lit up. Rocky still has a few miles left, but he has to be carefull, don't get talked into fighting over his weight, or in some strange place, like Scotland.

OK. Bad joke. I wonder why they didn't think of Juarez for Lomachenko. He would have a better chance to win and learn before he became TBA. Gary Russell specializes in Knocking out suckers. I'm not saying Lomachenko is a sucker, but when it comes to PRO boxing, he's still at mamma's breast.

I'm THRILLED For A Guy Like Rocky; I Love A Guy That Empties His Tank In The Ring

What a long road for this guy, but his work ethic and his will not to be denied was the answer. I hope he gets some nice paydays under his belt and wins that elusive major title. The guy fought like there was no tomorrow!

OMG ROCKY...OMG !!! ROCKY JUAREZ is the essence of a fighter;he can stay in the ring with everybody if he is in a good night but he is also terrible in a bad night;i mean he doesn't know how perform when things go bad;in the first fight with MAB he looked great and in the rematch he lost every minute of the fight,he is ever been discontinuous but for some reason this makes him interesting to watch. I'm happy for him,i can't imagine all his hard work in these years....wow,how sweet can be boxing!!!

117-111 scorecard was bull****. It was a close fight Alvarado out threw Juarez by like 400 punches and only landed one less punch. From the scorecards El Gemelo was going to have to win by KO.

I thought the fight was a lot closer as well. I thought the big 11th round for Alvarado was enough to at least preserve a draw, or perhaps a close win for Juarez. But Alvarado only has himself to blame. He seemed like he was never ready for the fight - the tape issue before and throughout the fight, readjusting his cup/trunks, etc.

Juarez was ready for war. Alvarado was forced to constantly adjust. That was the difference in the fight.

I agree. Not sure wtf was going on. You get a big fight in the States for the first time and your gloves and trunks are ****ed up? If Alvarado would have kept boxing he would have won easily. Not sure why he decided to change it up. I still don't understand a 117-111 scorecard? No KD's, no points taken away, and no round was a blow out for either fighter. Cong**** to Juarez though.

I think it was skill and experience that made the difference. Alvarado was the bigger stronger man, and yet he faded in the end because Rocky's jab and over hand right were finding the mark.

Alvarado didn't know how to counter that, and was being pushed backwards by the smaller man.

Rocky outclassed him to be honest. Alvarado didn't show much outside of one dimension. He was throwing the 1-2 over and over, but was being countered by the jab, left hook, body work on the inside and over hand right.

Rocky fought masterfully in the later parts of the fight.
