Good for Vitali, lots of heart and courage. The man could have died for his people - and I am sure he would of had no other way .

Looks good behind the podium, towering over his much smaller Billionaire president.

Vitali had better get himself a food taster....just ask former Ukranian President Viktor Yushchenko what The Czar is capable of.

Unfortunately true, but Vitali (as mayor) isn't such a high position compared to the presidency, and Yushchenko was targeted as he was an opposition that was really going against the order of a Russian puppet president...this time basically all the presidential candidates were 'opposition' as none of them were pro-Russia, so it's a bit of a different scenario. Certainly this kind of thing isn't particularly rare in Ukrainian politics, it's really one of the most dangerous arenas in the world for a career.

I love how Vitali even looks hardcore accepting a mayor election. The dude is simply amazing.
Im willing to bet that he comes back again to win another title again. I just got a feeling about it.

              Congratulations to Vitali.

For some reason I was reminded of the recent MPs brawling in Ukraine's parliament-- they better not try punching Vitali or they'll surely regret it.

I think the idea is that while it's obviously not as high as the Presidency, it's a position, and it can propel him to higher things assuming he proves himself as Mayor. He builds tho track record and he's no longer just a former HW Champ, but a successful Mayor that the people trust to take a higher position. Gotta start somewhere.
