Would Sam Peter have KOd Joe Frazier if they met?

So, take a look at my sig and see some posters here making arguments for Sam Peter KOing Joe Frazier had they ever met.

Sam Peter held the green belt for one fight, and was ready to fight anyone. Ask him, and he would say "Who necks?!". He beat the likes of former middleweight champion James Toney by close-but-clear split decision and although he was knocked down three times, also James McCline.

He then KOd Oleg Maskaev for the title.

Joe Frazier was a 5 year champion, beating the likes of Mathis, Bonavena, Quarry (twice), Ellis (twice), Muhammad Ali and Bob Foster.

Would Smokin' Joe had felt the wrath of the nigerian nightmare?

I remember the first time I saw someone post that Sam Peter was a rich man's Joe Frazier.

Why does Frazier receive so much disrespect around here? I wouldn't mention that guy in the same breath as Joe.

One of those same guys said that Sam Peter would beat Joe Frazier because he beat Ali while Peter beat Maskaev and Toney.

I mean, go figure that one out.

"So, who wins out of Peter and Frazier?"

"Well, Peter only beat old, fat, former middleweight champion James Toney, although most thought he lost, and also Oleg Maskaev, briefly a vacant paper title winner and he got knocked out by Helenius, pulverised by the Klits and schooled by Chambers. Whereas Frazier beat the guy generally regarded by most as the greatest heavyweight of all time, a slew of top contenders and other champions over a long title reign as the lineal, undisputed heavyweight champion. Clearly, based on that, Peter knocks Frazier out."

I was trying to work out how that thought must have gone in his head before he wrote it out. Here is how I figure the thought process worked...

"Hmmm, Frazier beat some great champions and HOFers and was the undisputed champion for years... and he beat the greatest heavyweight ever, while Sam Peter got knocked out by most good guys he faced except for the fat, old middleweight guy and that vacant titlist Maskaev.....Hmmm, this is tough.....I guess that I'll take Peter by KO, because I've only seen Frazier in black and white whereas Peter is a real colour TV person....actually from today, like a real person"

Cupocity knows little about the actual sport of boxing. That's not surprising.

Because Klitschko nuthuggers desperately want to paint him as a small, basic cruiserweight so they can take credit away from Ali for having so much trouble with him. I don't see anyone other than Klitschko nuthuggers ever disrespect Frazier.

Also, people do think Frazier losing twice to Ali and twice to Foreman means he was some lesser heavyweight in that era, and are unaware of the guys Frazier did beat besides Ali.

Oh u mean heavyweight monsters like Chuvalo, Ellis, Quarry, Bonavena and Foster?Nah those guys are bums. Nevermind all were world class and capable if upsetting each other and giving the Ali's of the world tough fights. I mean it was just the deepest heavyweight division in history afterall .

How much would Peter outweigh Frazier on the night of the contest? 40 lbs or maybe 50?

I think Peter wins before time. If it was an eating contest.
