Toowoomba featherweight “Iron” Will Young has suffered a viral infection forcing him out of this Sunday’s Australian featherweight title fight against Brisbane’s Emanuel Micallef. As a result of Young falling ill, the event that was scheduled to take place at Smithy’s Gym this Sunday has been cancelled.
Despite this disappointment Young’s shot at the Australian featherweight title has been salvaged with the bout against “Machine Gun Manny” Emanuel Micallef rescheduled to take place on the undercard of “Smithy Brings the Big Fights 7” at Rumours International in Toowoomba on July 4th. This bout adds to what is already an action packed card highlighted by the much anticipated rematch of former two time world lightweight champion Michael Katsidis “The Great” and England’s Graham “Duke of” Earl for the WBU Junior Welterweight world title.
