Lemieux vs Stevens

Lemieux. He impressed the heck out of me with his fluid footwork, speed and power. He would probably TKO Stevens.

I'd give Lemieux the edge, but I agree with others who say that the counters that Stevens can throw out of a defensive posture could be an issue if Lemieux keeps his attack sustained for too long... he can't linger throwing bombs because as his combos progress, they get wider and wider. Steven's throws short comact punches with power, so he would have to vary when he comes in and when he goes out. it's asking a lot of the smaller Steven's to take that strategy and hold up to so many bombs...i'll go with lemieux

Stevens will probably wait with his guard up while Lemuix is pushing him back. Waiting too long could get him hurt, but hes shown toughness when he does that. IMO, he could land a good shot while Lemuix is trying to go ham with those hooks against the ropes. He doesn't work his way in with a jab, most just coming in with that hook.

It'll be a fun fight.

Curtis Stevens is a C-level fighter. It says a lot about Lemieux's boxing ability when Stevens is regarded as the more polished fighter of the two.

I'll be rooting for Lemieux if they ever fight. His win over Fernando Guerrero is better than anything Stevens has done in his career, and at least he has never lost to journeymen.
