I don't understand how an altercation between 2 multi millionaires has anything to do with the black community. Why is it more often than not the subject of role models only come up when the celebrities involved are black. And now rap music is the great sin of society? American music since the blues and jazz dealt with the same subject matter as rap music today. Remember Elvis and his "devil" music? Let's not pretend that because a boxer and a rapper got into a fight it's now the end of civilization.

There are some great people that actually do care, but to the media and society the only ones that get recognition are the ones that highlight the negatives and not the positives
3. Without being part??? I was talking about white idiots that are racist that have never been in urban areas, never known under-privilegded youth, never been in an urban minority environment...
Donald sterling is a prime example,, he is a disgrace to the white race and should be in hell right now.... rush limbaugh is another example,, guys that have never been anywhere near an urban environment making claims... I have been born in raised in an urban minority environment so i feel like i have a better insight than those idiots
4. yes crime happened before hip hop,, but hip hop is one of the most infleuntial forces in society especially with urban youth, and hip hop has not tried to make things better, instead of focusing on the positives, they glorify the negatives....
2. The onus to cure world problems isn't on hip-hop. Get a ****ing grip
3. See 1&2. Ignorance is as bad as racism. It's really no different, actually.
4. The biggest influence on urban youth is their environment. If your argument is that hip-hop hasn't helped then maybe you should channel your energy toward ranting on the institutions in place that are actually meant to cure crime and poverty. Hip-hop isn't one of them. And if you admit these issues were around before hip-hop than how could you be so dense to think it's the cause and solution?

All i was saying is that hip hop is highly influential,, that is not even debatable.
Do you honestly think that every urban kid watches floyd's fights, and listens to TI's songs, but arent influenced by them... That is pretty dense to think that they have no cultural impact... floyd is only the highest paid athlete on the planet... Do you honestly think that youth doesnt look up to how he acts

Yes they do entertain, but you have to realize that yeah most people get it and dont take them as being role models, but their is alot of youth that grows up inspired by how they act...Last edited by Doctor_Tenma; 05-25-2014, 08:11 PM.
