Comments Thread For: Marquez Still Undecided Regarding Future, Pacquiao 5

Former four division world champion Juan Manuel Marquez is planning to take an extended rest and then he intends to make decision regarding his future. The biggest fight on the table is a fifth fight, on HBO Pay-Per-View, with WBO welterweight champion Manny Pacquiao, and Top Rank is targeting a November date in Macau, China.

Team Pacquiao is ready to accept the fight, but Marquez's trainer, Nacho Beristain, has no desire to see his boxer face Pacquiao for a fifth time.

He will fight pac a 5th time to pursue 147 title and too much money to pass up. He's just stalling to push the price up.

Call me crazy but I think Malignaggi vs Marquez would be one heck of a fight...great ice breaker to end the cold war as well. Would've made even more sense if Paulie hadn't lost his belt at 147 as well. Not sure Porter is an option or Thurman and Floyd is definitely not an option so I don't know where they think they can get a 147lb title from. Unless it doesn't matter what body the belt is from.

Actually, I would like to see that fight - they are two great technical fighters. Intersting matchup. Good idea.

What's there to think about Juan?

Here we are now!! Entertain us!!!
You're in the business of prize fighting, hence, you're in the entertainment business Marquez. People love to watch you get punched in the face basically and in exchange you get millions and millions of dollars.
See where this is going? It's not chess, either fight or retire it's that simple.
If Juan avoids the 5th fight he needs to retire period.. He already got a great win that could be a cap on a great and legendary career. Fighting a lesser opponent is ******, always fight the best (right now that's Pacquiao) and if he feels that he's done all he can do and he's not gonna fight the best when offered then he needs to retire.
