Oscar knows **** about how to run a successful business. He only knows how to get fitted for fishnets and how to smoke crack.

Schaefer built GBP by being a good BUSINESS MAN, Genius. Crack heads don't make good business men...

Yes, I'm sure Oscar knows nothing about running a successful business. That's how he went from nothing to generating hundreds of millions of dollars in income before he even met Richard Schaefer.

Richard Schaefer doesn't know how to start from scratch. The day Richard Schaefer has to go to a dirty gym to scout talent will be the day he flies back to Switzerland and never returns. He doesn't know how to do it.

Oscar De La Hoya will be a success in boxing for decades to come. When he cuts Schaefer loose, Showtime will still be there and HBO (and its larger budget and bigger audience) will be there with its arms open.

Schaefer's the guy who has burned bridges and cost people money. Oscar's only hurt himself. Boxing people will all gladly do business with him forever.

He is Golden Boy. Richard Schaefer isn't. Richard Schaefers are a dime a dozen in boxing. Oscar could hire another guy to run it tomorrow with more business experience.

Respectfully, the above quote makes no sense. Oscar generated that by fighting, not running a business. The two aren't the same.

He's been an incorporated business since he signed his first deal after the Olympics and received a $1 million signing bonus.

In fact, Raul Marquez famously said, when he heard of the money Oscar got, "If I got a million dollars, I'd find a way to break my hand and never fight again."

That's a guy with no business sense.

Oscar's always had business sense. He's had guys managing his different businesses for years. He can hire another guy after Schaefer's gone. Schaefer didn't do anything someone else couldn't have done. Hell, a lot of people could've done more than Schaefer has with all the millions he's had to work with since they began.

Right. You said successfully running a business. Now you're saying business sense. Those are two different things and your first post referred to the former.

Btw, it was Schafer who managed Oscar's portfolio and acted as an accountant -- before he formed Golden Boy.

We're waiting for an answer to this question but it's not impossible that some new promotional entity could be created with the finance to bankroll a Mayweather fight.

So, de la Hoya was promoting himself before the creation of Golden Boy?

And if Ole' Fishnets is SOOOO good at running a business, why hire Schaefer in the first place?

                This right here.

Some people just don't know **** about ****.

If de la Hoya were so good at business then how did he let Arum cheat him out of millions?

I think Dubble should step back and actually look into what he's talking about. He said Showtime wouldn't have any money for TMT because of a deal with GBP. There is no deal with GBP, not an exclusive, financial one anyway.

                    LOL..

You just don't even realize how ****ing CLUELESS you sound. If Schaefer is responsible for screwing up Golden Boy - and Oscar hired him - what does that say about de la Hoya as a business man?

                    1 + 1 = 2

I see you and simple logic have never met.

                    LOL..

                      Exactly.

Showtime is free to work with any promotional outfit they want - as seen by last Saturday's fights.
