You're right but if Mayweather Promotions is really Haymon Promotions without his name then you may be surprised how many fighters they pull out of thin air.

So, how are things over @ TMT going?

Yes, Oscar made a ton of money and sold a bunch of PPVs - but having lots of money and selling a ton of PPVs DOES NOT MAKE A SUCCESSFUL PROMOTIONAL OUTFIT. Knowing how to run a business DOES.

Schafer has been running the business over at GBP since day ONE. And BTW, Ole' Fishnets hasn't sold a PPV since 2008. You don't build the biggest promotional outfit in boxing by cross dressing and crack smoking, Genius.

Actually, having lots of money and selling a ton of PPVs is exactly what makes a successful promotional outfit ... genius. During half the company's existence, Oscar provided all that as well as capturing the Latino market.

They didn't get it from anywhere else, genius.

That promotional outfit had more money than any other promotional company from day one ... because of Oscar De La Hoya.

All Schaefer has done with all that is get the company barred from HBO and NOT develop any homegrown talent in its entire existence.

If Schaefer wasn't riding Mayweather's PPV coattails at the moment, nobody would consider him anything special. Schaefer hasn't built anything on his own. Since he got in the boxing business, he's had more money than anyone else to throw around.

And, like I said, where is he going to take these fighters if he leaves? Is he going to stage his shows in Switzerland? I don't think too many Mexican fans from California are going to make the trip on over.

You seem to have intimate knowledge of Showtime's contract with GBP. Maybe you could share it with us? I guess Showtime doesn't work with promoters other than Golden Boy, right? Or did you miss the Stevenson fight Showtime aired last Saturday.

        LOL...

        LOL.

If Oscar "dumps" Schaefer - which he won't - GBP will be in NO position to compete with TR. None. Expect GBP to get the ass end of the stick in any potential deals with Arum.

No, Schaefer will ruin Golden Boy by taking Mayweather and most of the Golden Boy roster with him if he were to leave...

Showtime only has so much money. It's got a deal with Golden Boy. Floyd gets his money when he fights. I don't know where "all these other fighters" leaving with Schaefer will get their money from.

Showtime will be tapped. And HBO won't have anything to do with him. They'll have to fight somewhere else.

Oscar knows **** about how to run a successful business. He only knows how to get fitted for fishnets and how to smoke crack.

Schaefer built GBP by being a good BUSINESS MAN, Genius. Crack heads don't make good business men...

I was thinking the same thing. De La Hoya can always hire someone to run the business side of things. Those guys aren't hard to come across. De La Hoya has connections in the sport and he still has Canelo and there's a few Espinoza Boxing Club guys signed to GBP. Plus there has to be a few Haymon fighters under contract with GBP. They'll be fine

I have no idea where Schaefer fits in all this. Ellerbe is CEO of TMT, isn't he? Looks like he's going to be the odd man out in this

I'm sure there are promotional outfits lined up out the door and around the corner who are ready, willing and able to work with a) the biggest draw in boxing and b) the guy who built the #1 promotional outfit in boxing.

What deal with GBP? You're talking about rights, not finance.

What promotional companies have the capital to invest in a Mayweather fight? Those things aren't cheap. Plus Floyd's $32 million guarantee is paid by the promoter...
