So Verdejo is fighting another bum then... I like the kid, I think he is ready for a step up already. Wish he would have done so for the June 7th card.

I don't get it. Verdejo gets the kid glove treatment, I'm not saying he is't good, just getting hand picked, soft opposition, and everybody is all gaga over him. He hasn't faced anybody yet. And then you have Pedraza, a traveler, beating good fighters, working in obscurity. Am I missing something?

I believe your missing allot. The kid is 2yrs fresh out of the Olympics, just turned 21, no interm status and shy of 12 fights with mediocre opposition. What do expect Mayweather on the fast track? It's just another day at the office of Top Rank with typical traditional cycle of building a fighter. Oscar Valdez, José Ramirez are on the same boat to name a few.

He is fighting guys with the same amount of fight or on his level. That is the way Top Rank do with most of their prospect. He needs to build that foundation and considering he have the charisma to be a star in PR, you need to make him look great everytime.

He is 21. Fighting guys with the same amount of fights he has. Do you want him to face Magdaleno, Cruz, Juarez, so soon in his career?
