The person who was going to beat Roy Jones back in those days was someone with 1 punch Ko power and Floyd don't have that. Shoulder Roll no problem look what Roy did to James Toney. Winner Roy by ko hand speed to fast

I'll have to go with Floyd, his PPV numbers and drawing power is superior to Roy's which means Roy would have to use extra heavy gloves which nullifies his speed. Floyd by UD.

I actually think Floyd would take it given size parity. Surprised how many people are saying Floyd relies on his speed and would be beaten to the punch. Since when is Floyd just trading flurries? He relies on strategy, a rule-bending extreme of the shoulder defense and oddly timed countering.

        and I hate Floyd.

IF FLoyd relies too much on speed, then so does RJJ. RJJ got away with damn near everything because he was soo athletic. If anything RJJ relied on speed.

Who would win between Whitaker and Jones, if they were the same size?

It's weird, the only time they could have realistically fought if you think about it, was when Roy was green at 154 and Floyd past prime and small at 154. Usually the great but still green fighter retires the great but old, smaller, past prime fighter. So I think Roy takes it. Full of energy and confidence while Floyd didn't look as good and offensive at 154 as he did at 130-140.

Like a couple people already pointed out that some have forgotten. Roy had knock out power, Floyd doesn't. Even if there speed was equal(IT ISN'T), Roy could hit opponents clean with his lead foot 3- 4 feet from there lead foot. It didn't look real. He was in my opinion the fastest boxer period. Unfortunately speed leaves quickly with age and he RELIED EXCLUSIVELY on speed to whip people.

It ok to rely on speed as long as you are the faster fighter.

This is a funny question. The TS knows Roy beat up Hopkins and Toney, right?
