Comments Thread For: Photos: Lemieux and Guerrero Go Face To Face at Presser

MONTREAL – Hometown favorite David Lemieux and Fernando Guerrero agree on one thing: their showdown on the undercard of the Adonis Stevenson-Andrzej Fonfara SHOWTIME CHAMPIONSHIP BOXING tripleheader at Bell Centre this Saturday, May 24 will likely end in a knockout. Photos by Stephanie Trapp.

“The knockout is going to be there,” Lemieux said. “It’s only a matter of how it’s going to be there that is going to make a difference.”

The power-punching Lemieux (31-2, 29 KOs), of Montreal, and Guerrero (26-2, 19 KOs) of Salisbury, Md., will square off in a 10-round middleweight co-featured bout live on SHOWTIME® (9 p.m. ET/PT, delayed on the West Coast). [Click Here To Read More]

Lemieux is a poor man's Keith Thurman. Thurman can box and has skills where as David so far only has freakish power and comes strong for 4-5 then someone like Rubio or Alcine box his ears off. I hope he can take out Guerrero though.

Lemieux early or Guerrero late unless Lemieux has improved his stamina. Not sure Guerrero can improve his chin. Gatica, Smith have caught him, and two others stopped him.....seems to get hurt easy. Really likable guy though.

I like Guerrero. I met him before, and he's a really nice guy. I'm not sure about his chances though. I don't trust his chin, and Lemieux can crack. If Guerrero can get through the first four or five rounds without getting caught, he can win this fight. We'll see.

They don't, but I meant in the context of freakish power punchers.

Two former touted prospects trying to revive their careers after losing fights they were expected to win. Good fight on paper. Want Guerrero to win but it's a toss up in my eyes.
