But their trilogy is legendary due to its historical background and mythological character.

Wow, I have never heard of anyone calling the fights between Ali and farzier "not interesting". The Holyfield/ Bowe were great fights no doubt, but I'm a purist and Ali/Frazier were at a much higher level of skill. If you like two ****ers then I guess I see where Holyfield/Bowe were more "interesting".

Holyfield and Bowe showed a lot of skill too.

Bowe's infighting was top notch, and Holyfield was no slouch in that department either. Holyfield's combos were excellent too, and his very good boxing ability helped him eke out a close win in the rematch.

If Holyfield would have finished off Bowe in the 6th round of their third fight (when Holy came back from the brink and had Bowe down for the first time in his career) and ended up winning by TKO, then I think that would have made a better case for the trilogy being greater than Ali-Frazier.

I always thought the Holyfield - Bowe fights were highly regarded as a modern day classic heavyweight trilogy?

They were the fights that made Bowe and Holyfield.

            They made Bowe.

Holyfield had wins over other top ranked heavyweights of his time. The Tyson fight is what made people rank him much higher all-time.

True, but the Tyson - Holyfield fight was so antcipated because of his other achievments, especially his fights with Bowe.
