At the start you wouldn't say he was overly gifted or skilled so what does his dad do? Takes him to be Pacquiao's chief sparring partner and you can tell some of that has rubbed off on his style. After sparring Pacquiao he's now in the Mayweather boxing gym getting sparring from some of the best talent in the world, all the while he stepped up his competition slowly but surely to the point he is now a legit world champion.

So many of the great fighters of yesteryear learnt from others in their stable, like Holmes and Ali. Porter is doing all the right things. Kell Brook who I would say was more talented than Porter is simply not getting the work than Shawn has gotten the past 4-5 years and is not improving as rapidly, right now Porter would be the favourite over Kell.

He's a very talented boxer who can punch but hasn't improved his defence in the past 5 years.

I agree. From all the interviews I've seen, hes very humble and dedicated to the sport

People that spar with Pacquiao turn into beasts. They know they have to bring there A game or else they'll get KTFO

I'm a fan of Porter.....the way he carries himself, his faith, his character is solid. Very likable guy.
