Boxing? Or MMA?

Everyone? Man speak for yourself. Contrary to what you might believe, some guys in here have actually done more than to merely watch the sport of boxing. They've partaken.
But back to MA, I used to study with a Bagua Sifu and his wife had lots of skill in their version of sparring, but I was holding back out of chivalry. I could have blasted her out at any point, really. Just simply overpowered her.
same with this mma girl... any man she manages to get to spar with will be holding back, so, if shes in a fight with a guy for REAL that has any concept of how to throw punch and he has a functional 80+ pounds weight advantage....she will be surprised by his power, and struggle with it.Comment

Mma aite... I like Nick Diaz. But he more of a boxer type.
I see the method to all the jockeying for position on the floor... but it is not fun to watch for me. I like watching punches and attacks... not the writhing of men's body and limbs over another.Comment

Good post. Diaz can be exciting but I prefer a good boxing match.Comment

Boxing all day and twice on sunday.
Problem with ufc as a sport is there is a negate to every style.
So they are forced to learn them alm in which they are average at everything so talent looks marginal. Its street fight with no shoes and but with rules.
I say give shoes and take away the rules except for eye gouging
You should be able to put your hands around there throat .
And no rounds in ufc. 20 min fight no breaksComment

Muai Thai is definitely more graceful, I do prefer boxing though.Muay Thai's an amazing sport to watch. Massive skill level involved and there's an air of brutality about it as well, even moreso than in boxing.
When two Muay Thai fighters start trading elbows you know some serious shit is going down. Can't quite say the same for when you see two MMA fighters rolling around in their underwear.
