Comments Thread For: Sergio Martinez: 'I'm Sure' That I'll KO Miguel Cotto

Sergio Martinez has shown fight-stopping power since crashing the scene with a TKO win over Alex Bunema in 2008, but he hasn't won inside the distance since 2012.

Martinez (51-2-2, 28 KOs) believes that will change with his June 7 middleweight championship defense against Miguel Cotto (38-4, 31 KOs) on HBO PPV.

Cotto should knee Sergio's knee in the first round. Ask maidana for tips.

I can't see this fight going the distance. If Sergio still has his legs his movement and precise punching will wear Cotto down and eventually KO him

If Martinez has no legs then I can see the opposite happening. Cotto will pressure him, work the body and eventually stop him in the later rounds.

I'm personally going with Martinez in this fight. Can't wait though. It should be a good fight no matter who wins

        A career middleweight is sure he'll knock out a past-prime, former 140lber? Wow, that's a stretch.

I heard an interview with Paulie stating that he left the cotto fight with a leg full of bruises. He also had that Judah fight, so Miguel cotto can definitely fight dirty if he needs to .

Unless he's completely broken down, that's exactly what's going to happen.
