New Thurman Interview "I'm Not a Prize Fighter, I'm a Pride Fighter"

Good interview. He talks about sparring Winky Wright, Jeff Lacy and Antwun Echols when he was only 15-16 years old. Also talks about knocking out 3 different people in sparring in the same day. lol

Has some harsh words for you critics as well.

We'll see about that, that is an easy thing to say when someone is making a name for them self but once he reaches a certain status he will use it like all the rest.

      Posted this yesterday, good interview

I don't understand how anyone can dislike him, gets so much unwarranted hate.

A fighter who doesn't care about the money or his '0' should be appreciated by all boxing fans. He genuinely loves the sport and fights for the fans.

Yeah, time will only tell if he stays true to his word.

It'd be rather disappointing if he didn't.

I wouldn't be disappointed because being disappointed requires expecting something out of someone, I have watched enough careers go by to know the general flow and not to expect someone to ever really be different (it does happen but those exceptions are exceptions that prove the general rule).

It is also why I don't give a damn about a lot of things, I just don't expect much out of boxing or boxers or people involved in boxing.

Well, given Thurman's attitude and history of being outspoken about not caring about his 0 and wanting to make the best fights possible, I think it's fair to expect that out of him. Therefore it'd be fair to be disappointed if he failed to live up to his stated standards.

It'd be different if he weren't selling himself as a throwback type of fighter, but he is, and I expect fans to hold him to that over the course of his career.

If not...at least we'll have a ton of these types of clips to make hilarious videos of him contradicting himself with.
