There is nothing to negotiate. All Arum has to do is agree to pay Chavez the $7 million for a Golovkin fight without requiring him to sign an extension. The fact that he is talking about bringing Chavez Sr. to the negotiating table with Jr. is evidence that Arum has no intention of fulfilling his contract with Chavez and allowing Chavez to become a free agent. He is going to bring Sr. to the table to try to convince Jr. that he is better off being led around by the nose by Bob Arum rather than becoming a free agent and signing with Al Haymon.
Arum and Sr. are going to try to convince Jr. that the significant increase that Adonis Stevenson recently got for his next fight after signing with Haymon and moving the fight to Showtime is not a sign that Haymon can get Jr. more money. Arum is going to pull every dirty trick that he can to get his wayward sheep back in line.
I hope Jr. is not ****** enough to fall for it.
