Stop with the ducking bull!!!!!!!! There is no money in fighting Kovalev. Of all the top light heavyweights out there Kovalev IS THE LEAST LUCRATIVE FIGHT OF THEM ALL!

Stevenson is 37 or 38 yrs old I believe. At this age he HAS TO make the most money while he can. He will probably be exiting the sport at 40. No one knew who Stevenson was until his recent destruction of Chad Dawson only a few years ago.

Kovalev is still not known and although he is slowly making a name for himself, Kovalev cannot put butts in seats and at the end of the day that is what counts. Stevenson can make FAAARRR more money fighting any other top 175 pounder out there.

Boxing isn't just entertainment it is also a business and at Stevenson's age it makes much, much, much more business sense to fight Bernard Hopkins, especially since B-Hop put on such a great performance in his last outing.

But I know guys, none of what I said makes any sense, he is still "ducking" Kovalev because he is "scared" right?

Stevenson was about to sign a 3 fight deal with HBO where the two fights would understandably be cup cake defenses to fatten up Adonis' account and then take all the risk in the last one vs Kovalev. It made sense and I defended Stevenson a lot from that stand point and that went down the drain when he jumped ship. Stevenson can fill up arenas in Canada like Pascal-Bute and would have made serious cash vs Kovalev anyways. Hopkins is no draw let's be real and Stevenson the drawing power.

Beating Hopkins at this age doesn't prove a thing. Bernard is at a point where fighting him is useless as winning will mean you beat up an old man and losing will look horrible. Losing to Kovalev would look more respectful and winning would look better than beating Hopkins.

Kovalev drew 1 million viewers fighting a no-name in Cedric Agnew. He can definitely put butts in seats. So, the "Kovalev brings no money" argument is false.
